Photo: sunshadowpoet: shynessisnice: 50 most beautiful album sleeves of the year. I’ll endorse the Sonic Youth entry at the very least, and not even necessarily because of Sonic Youth (as that part mainly only influenced whether I encountered the album artwork sooner rather than later, let alone saw it printed in a bigger size [LP packaging]), thankfully. I had no idea the sonic youth cover was by John Fahey.  (my collecting of Baizley vinyls has expanded my musical knowledge in many directions, 9 months ago I wouldn’t have known who Fahey was). Clearly though, the voters on NME were voting more on musical popularity than artistic merit. (Muse? Green Day? D: )
