thursday, 2pm.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m no vinyl junkie and don’t claim to know a damn thing about the finer points of vinyl collecting, but since the dawn of the Digital Age, I’ve made it a point to buy my favorite records on vinyl. I hit up Independent Records, which is right next to the Ogden Theater, and this was today’s haul…
Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill
TV On The Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
Baroness - Red Album
Baroness - Blue Record
Cave In - Jupiter
ummmm, we should be best friends.
excellent records. shit, I didn’t realize they’d re-issued Jupiter!
Quite a day for Baizleys. I got my Blue Record diptych framed and got the 3xLP and poster in the mail.
damn. nice. I’m waiting to frame up the diptych and the rest of my posters until after I move.

Blue Diptych - John Dyer Baizley
If it sells out before friday, or I don’t get paid before friday, this will be the last thing that I miss due to my previous employer. I think the likelihood of both of those conditions being fulfilled is low, though.
BURLESQUE of NORTH AMERICA™ STORE
You can order this print from burlesque as well, although it’s damaged. despite being signed and numbered (out of 200), $30 is substantial for a damaged print.
Baroness - Rise
Baroness’ first Ep trumps anything else they put out, possibly until the Blue Record. Red Album might be more interesting if I hadn’t heard any other southern sludge. I love the style, but there’s so much of it that you have to be choosy about it. This was the song that kindled my interest in Baroness, after having seen them live and given Red Album a couple of tries.
Blue Record is a discussion for another day, as it’s another beast entirely from Rise.
