Pretty sure I disagree with this. “mature” (worst descriptor evar) blogs on wordpress.com disappear - their tags don’t work (they link to tag pages devoid of the content that sent you there). Wordpress.com, in addition to being a blog host, has a substantial backend search/recommendation engine, from which all sex-related blogs are excluded, even to those who attempt to follow “mature” tags and blogs. All this because automattic won’t collect COPPA information or provide content warnings. AFAIK, content warnings are legally required in the US, and google is doing the right thing by making them available. It would be nice if google could do a better job of remembering users who’ve already confirmed their age and intent to view adult blogs, though. (via sarahchristine)
