This is the first single from their forthcoming album Year of the Black Rainbow; this prequel is the 5th and final album in their epic sci-fi concept.
Not to be an arrogant prick, but I really liked “Second Stage Turbine Blade” and even some of the Demos they did prior to that… But since then it’s been old-hat… and not in a “hey, that’s a rad old hat!” kind of way.
I’m kind of there with J$ on this. Prior to Burning Star IV, they didn’t really have that many guitar solos, and the epics, like “2113” were big-time epic, not padded with extra solos. And now they have Chris Pennie from DEP on drums and I fear the poor dude is just bored on some stuff. But I’ll still grab the album the day it comes out.
I kinda knew when they split the 3rd part into 2 sub-parts, that quality was going to take a hit. Still, I do love me some prog, and wanky guitar solos aren’t unwelcome. I’ll pretty much always love co&ca’s schtick.
